Tamworth's first and largest Team Penning Association, affiliated with the Australian Quarter Horse Association, has been enjoying monthly club days in the Tamworth District since 1998 at the Moonbi Recreational grounds just North of Tamworth.  Tamworth Team Penning Association has continued to grow with competitors traveling from across NSW to compete at monthly club days. With the pinnacle of each club year being our annual "NSW TEAM PENNING CHAMPIONSHIPS"  successfully run for the past 8 years, where riders from Team Penning Associations throughout NSW and QLD come to Tamworth; to test their skills in horsemanship, cattle sense or to simply try their luck. 

Our monthly club days normally consist of 150 runs, with three divisions for competitors; 

JUNIORS:  for riders 12 years of age and under
YOUTH:  for riders 13 years to 17 years of age and
OPEN :    for riders 18 years and over.

Team Penning and Arena Sorting are increasingly popular all over the world. Riders with all levels of experience are encouraged. Some ride and enjoy the social aspect whilst others are more competitive. Tamworth Team Penning Association encourages participation. A FAMILY FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT.  Arena Sorting and Team Penning are unique in that they are a horse sport where three generations of a family can ride side by side and simply have fun.

Tamworth Team Penning Association promotes that all ride to enjoy and Animal welfare is paramount.
